FAMILY SHIELD PRODUCES WITNESSING—A LIFESTYLE AND OFFERS ONE-DAY SEMINAR 

Family Shield Ministries, a Recognized Service Organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, will complete production of its newest book Witnessing—A Lifestyle this fall. The book is designed to encourage, motivate, and equip individuals and church group leaders to use everyday situations to share the law and Gospel with family members, friends, co-workers, and those they meet in the community. The 160 page book has four segments that include: 1) Witnessing Basics, 2) Witnessing Begins at Home, 3) Witnessing During Holidays, and 4) Witnessing in the Community, Congregations, and Schools. The book is made possible, in part, though a grant from the Northern IL District Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

To introduce the book to the community, Family Shield will sponsor a seminar at Concordia Seminary, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis MO  63105 on Thursday, November 13, 2008. The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Registration is $35 and includes the seminar, a copy of the book, additional training material, and lunch. The presenter and facilitator is Kay L. Meyer, president of Family Shield Ministries, host of the Family Shield radio program heard in the Midwest, and author of Witnessing—A Lifestyle. 

The lifestyle-friendship building approach is non-threatening, offers participants simple ways to begin the witnessing process, and focuses on making friends and building positive, trusting relationships with family members, friends, co-workers, and people in the community. It will equip Christians to share God’s grace and forgiveness. 

About the author

Kay L. Meyer is the founder and president of Family Shield Ministries, Inc. and the host of its weekly, hour-long, Family Shield radio program heard in the Midwest. She has authored hundreds of articles, Bible studies, devotions, and books for children and adults.
